Shadows of Pnath

Alessandra Zorzi is exactly the kind of morally gray thief I want to follow through a summoning plot, and the noir atmosphere kept me hooked. The Arkham Horror setting seeps into every corner without overwhelming the mystery.

The pacing is relentless—I finished it in two sittings because every heist scene ratchets the tension up without ever feeling repetitive. It's a proper noir-thriller that makes the summoning plot feel genuinely sinister rather than just background noise.

Zorzi’s blend of creeping dread and sharp-witted scheming really landed for me—the way her cons unfold against the summoning threat keeps things tense without losing that noir edge. I’m already hunting down the next Arkham Horror novel to chase this feeling.
